[ It's been a while since Winry got droned, but she's finally snapping out of it. A bit confused, since she doesn't recall doing anything that would deserve a droning so it isn't her first thought. ]
Hm... It's hard to believe, but I've really been here for a long time, haven't I? I'll be turning 18 soon, most likely... Kind of a creepy thought. I had really hoped to finish my apprenticeship before I turned 18 so I could work properly alongside Granny... but I guess that's not happening... B-but, more to the point! That just occurred to me because I was looking at the calendar today and I noticed something sort of weird.

Is it me, or did time go by really really fast? I have no idea what happened this month... Did something happen that I should know about?

[ Action ]
[ After her phonecall, Winry can be found walking around Mayfield with her dog, Den. Poor dog has been absolutely traumatized by Winry's droning and is very relieved to have her back to normal. And excited to be on a walk with her. You might notice Winry and Den either
A) Walking around Mayfield, with Den on a loose leash. He might come up to sniff your hand as you walk by or bark at you if he's seen you before.
or
B) At the park, where Winry is playing fetch with him. Once again, he's prone to approaching people and will do so more freely since he is off the leash. Also, look out for flying tennis balls, because Winry's aim with something so light and un-wrench-like is a bit bad. She might hit you. ]

Well, as far as I know... not yet? But I heard sometimes the town is nice enough to give you your stuff back! If that's the case, I should have my z-- er, giant robot back soon. Or maybe they'll give me R.I.C. He's my super awesome robot dog.

[He'll just let her dream for a while. Teehee.]

Giant robot?! Robot dog?! Those sound amazing!!!

What kind of world do you come from, to have all of that stuff?!

[He's not trying to brag, even if it... kinda seems like it? He's just all too amazed by all this stuff too. Oh, tech geeks.]
Ah, just a futuristic version of Earth! Well, one that apparently develops much more quickly than most, it seems? I mean, by 2030 we have aliens from other planets living on Earth, giant robots, cyborgs, intergalactic space travel, and all other sorts of stuff we used to only think was possible in sci-fi novels.

Wow~! I'm from, um... 1910, but I'm not on Earth... But wow, that's pretty impressive! Space travel, huh? I wonder what sort of car you'd have to use to do that~.

[...D'aw, this is so adorable. Bridge always did find people of the past's ideas of the future to be endearing, while most others found them hilarious.]

Well, actually. We've got spaceships. Which... I guess are kind of like bigger cars without wheels? And wings--- well, I guess they're more like airplanes in that aspect. They started out pretty basic, but with time... oh man. Some of spaceships of my time rival those big ships of the past.

[identity profile] wontjustwait.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? Ships? But... how would you get those into the air? Ships are horizontal... You'd need a huge ramp or something, wouldn't you?

[identity profile] buttery-tech.livejournal.com 2011-05-30 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's a bit complicated, and the full details would take a really long time to explain, buuuut~!

[Improv time. Bridges finds himself a nice oval shaped rock and holds it upright, making his other hand sit behind it and wiggling his fingers like makeshift rockets.]

Your most basic spaceship was just a small shuttle. They could only hold a small crew of like, maybe four to eight people tops? Anyways, they basically built ships that would sit like this, and they kind of like... used advanced fireworks to make go racing into the sky? And eventually they'd break out of Earth and be floating around space! It's pretty amazing stuff, still.

... That sounds fantastic.

Technology is really only going to improve, isn't it? Oooh, I wish I could go to the future and see everything for myself!

Man, I know you would love it. Well, I mean, I know I do. Some people might be freaked out by living with aliens, though.
